Training and Consultation

Harvey Feldman (he/him) LCMHC is a licensed therapist in the state of New Hampshire (#2128) and Vermont. He holds a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Goddard College (Plainfield, Vermont) with a focus on clinical issues of gender and sexuality, as well as a Master’s degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree from Smith College. He is a founding member of The Gender Diverse Care Coalition of New Hampshire, as well as a member of Dartmouth Health’s Transgender Program Community Advisory Board. 

        Harvey Feldman Counseling provides trainings, organizational, and clinical consultation focused on gender diversity and difference. Harvey Feldman Counseling has designed and led large scale trainings for public school systems as well as residential treatment centers in New Hampshire. Harvey has also provided short term consultation to independent boarding schools focused on gender affirmation and inclusion.

Creating Gender Affirming Systems and Culture


Intended audience: Non-profits, schools, religious organizations, congregant care, community organizations 


Estimated length: 3 hours


Delivery: In person or virtual


Suggested learning objectives: 


Participants will increase comfort with gender affirmative language and concepts.


Participants will learn one new method of increasing gender affirmative practices within their organization.


Participants will learn more about community resources and support for gender diverse people.




Clinical Work with Gender Diverse Youth and Families


Intended Audience: Clinicians and allied health professionals 


Estimated Length: 4-6 hours


Delivery: In person or virtual


Suggested learning objectives: 


Participants will understand required elements of gender affirmative individual and family therapy.


Participants will understand ways to assess family strengths and challenges in the realm of gender affirmation. 


Participants will understand how to support entire family systems in increasing capacity for gender affirmation.




Informed Consent Assessment and Letter Writing

Intended Audience: Clinicians and allied health professionals 


Estimated Length: 4 hours

 

Delivery: In person or virtual 


Suggested learning objectives: 


Participants will understand assessment process for letters of medical necessity.


Participants will understand specific considerations in assessment in those under 18.


Participants will utilize case study method in order to increase comfort with letter writing.
